EPSA
The European Pharmaceutical Students' Association, EPSA, was established in 1978 as a European Sub-Committee of IPSF (the International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation founded in 1949) which became an independent organisation of IPSF officially registered at the Tribunal d'Illkirch, Strasbourg - France, in 1982. The current name of EPSA was decided 10 years after and took effect from the closure of the 16th congress in 1993 in Helsinki. EPSA's aim is to ‘Develop the interests and opinions of European Pharmacy Students and to encourage the contact and cooperation between them'.
Currently this is achieved through the maintenance of close contacts with professional organisation and the implementation of several innovative projects, diverse events and informative publications, which bring further benefits to EPSA members and which allowed EPSA to be able to develop a consensus of opinion among pharmacy students from all over Europe.
Today, EPSA is an independent students' organisation which represents over 120 000 students in 34 different European countries.
